Francesco took many pictures of the new baby and everyone else. He enjoys taking pictures!

Happy BIRTHday Makayla!

Makayla Marie 6 lbs 7 0z. 19 in. born at 12:07 4/13/09I finally got to see her for the first time at 5:00pm, but only for 10 minutes. She had rapid breathing, low blood sugar and a heart murmur so she had to stay in NIC unit for most of the day.Marcello spent most of the day with Makayla in the NIC unit but he did not get his chance to hold her until 9:00pm, when she finally was able to come stay in my room. It was a long exhausting day! We're glad to be "over the hump". Blood sugar and breathing stabilized and the heart murmur will hopefully have corrected itself. We do another scan in two weeks to make sure.
The pitter-patter of tiny feet make their way into Daddy's heart! Makenzie and Francesco had to wait till the next day to meet their new sister.

D-day tomorrow!!

Tomorrow is the BIG DAY! I have to be at the hospital at 7am and should have the new baby around 9am. I am a wee bit nervous, very excited, a little scared, but mostly overjoyed and curious to see who she'll look like. The kids are excited. They had a hard time saying good-bye to me, before heading over to Mimi and Poppy's for the night! Francesco was full of last minute questions as to what was going to happen at the hospital. Makenzie was feeling a bit sad about being apart from me. Hopefully they can concentrate at school tomorrow and their day will go by fast! Well, I guess the next picture will be of the baby!

Easter at our house

Easter was wonderful! Marcello's parents are now oficially "Snow Birds". They moved into their house in Cape Coral on Sat. Zia Maria came down to help and Fabio and Colleen came down with three of their kids to help out....and enjoy the beaches for spring break! Makenzie and Francesco were so excited to meet their cousins again, they don't remember them from Michigan, it has been 4 1/2 years since we've seen them. We had a full house, with my parents and siblings pus spouses and kid(s). Kathy and Jon have #2 on the way - just found out a wwk ago!
